Disneyland Resort Recognizes Influential Youth Through New Dreamers & Doers Program, Honors 60 ‘Shining Stars’ for 60th Anniversary

Last year, I shared that we were seeking difference-making youth in Orange County, Calif., to be part of the first class of Disneyland Resort Dreamers & Doers. We launched the program in honor of the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration to recognize high school students who take action to improve their homes, schools and communities, and the results are in!

Sixty students were honored as "Shining Stars" at the inaugural Disneyland Resort Dreamers & Doers celebration. Each "Shining Star" received a $1,000 grant for their high school and a medal of recognition. Thanks to their efforts, more than 40 Orange County high schools are receiving grants from the Disneyland Resort!

Six "Luminaries" also were surprised at the celebration, receiving a weekend prize package to the Disneyland Resort to enjoy with their families, and an opportunity to present a $3,000 donation to an Orange County nonprofit organization that focuses on an area they are passion about. Meet our six "Luminaries" in this video, and congratulations to our first class of Disneyland Resort Dreamers & Doers!
