Today you’re in for a real treat my friends! Remember yesterday when I told you we’d be sharing a story about a real life Disney proposal? Well the hour is upon us! As part of our “Celebrate 14 Days of Love” series I’m going to share what happened.
When we first learned New Mexico native, Issac Gomez, wanted to propose to his girlfriend, Amanda, my friends and I at Disney Floral & Gifts were eager to help … it’s what us Dream Makers do best!
Like most love stories, theirs began with a surprise encounter, and one Issac can’t help but share with a huge grin. “We met through my cousin, being introduced to her was my Christmas present,” Issac shared. “Best present ever.”
While telling us about her, Isaac shared on numerous occasions how selfless Amanda is. “She takes care of literally everyone and would do anything for the people she loves.”
So when Isaac shared he wanted to propose, we recommended the ideal gift to set the stage for their moment near Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park.
Here’s what happened: The night before, a gift was delivered to their room along with a card message that prepped the proposal for the next day. Of course, we’re keeping some of the details secret just in case your sweetheart may be reading this story (wink). As their day was winding down in Magic Kingdom Park, Isaac took Amanda to La Fontaine de Cendrillon, Cinderella’s fountain, just as the card message mentioned.
At the fountain, Isaac asked Amanda to get two coins from her bag. Realizing she only had one coin, she tried to convince Isaac to make his wish in the fountain instead. “We went back and forth for a few minutes before I finally got her to make her wish with the coin,” he laughed. “Just goes to show how thoughtful she really is, always thinking of the other person.”
As Amanda tossed her coin into the fountain, eyes closed, Isaac knelt to the ground with her ring in hand and popped the question.
“I asked her to fulfill my wish and spend her life with me, she thought I was kidding,” he said.
“I’m glad he wasn’t,” she added. “I couldn’t have dreamt of a better proposal!”
As if the day wasn’t magical enough, Isaac had one more surprise being prepped in their Walt Disney World Resort room … our Presenting Your Royal Princess In-Room Celebration. Imagine Amanda’s surprise to walk in their resort room door to discover roses, her very own tiara, proclamation, and sparkling fairy tale necklace and more, just as if the Fairy Godmother stopped by! “The In-Room Celebration was a complete surprise, unlike anything I could have imagined” Amanda shared.
