Growing up it would seem we used the phrase “I Promise” to get anything we desired in exchange for good behavior. It was the best way to show how much you wanted something, and how willing you were to do whatever it took for parents to say yes.

Now that we are all a little older, we know that a promise is so much more than words of persuasion, it’s the assurance and ultimate commitment to someone that you will abide by until that promise is fulfilled.
