One of the things I love most about fashion is its ability to transform a person’s look, mood and personality. Some style mavens make such a statement, it can even transport those around them to another place and time.
That’s exactly what happened to me on a recent trip to Disneyland, where I encountered some guests with standout style. They harkened back to the days when Walt Disney strolled down Main Street U.S.A., and for a moment I felt I was seeing the world through the eyes of the man with a dream.
Tomorrow would be Walt’s 112th birthday. We’re celebrating the dreamer and all of those he has inspired.
Minnie made this look famous, but our guess is this red and white polka dot dress was favored by many women in 1955.
More polka dots, but this time in aqua blue – a color trend of the 50′s. The plaid circle skirt is a fun and flirty statement complete with a crinoline.
Who says you can’t mix plaids and stripes? This plaid shirt is reminiscent of the vests and skirts sported by our VIP tour guides. The bow tie is a fashion forward touch. The multi-directional stripes in the dress are a playful take on a classic.
