Disney Parks Celebrate 90 Years of Mickey Mouse with the ‘World’s Biggest Mouse Party’

Mickey Mouse is headed for his next milestone – 90 years of nonstop entertainment! To celebrate, Disney Parks will kick off the World's Biggest Mouse Party later this year in honor of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, with special festivities held at each resort around the world. The party is so big, it's happening all the way into 2019!

Disney Parks will also mark Mickey's birthday, November 18 – in honor of the release of his first theatrical film, Steamboat Willie on November 18, 1928 – with commemorative merchandise, treats, photo locations and more.

But that's not all! Disney will keep the party going with a star-studded celebration on ABC dedicated to Mickey Mouse, an extended-length birthday episode of Disney Channel's Mickey Mouse animation shorts and dozens of new books, arts and crafts and comics from Disney Publishing as part of Mickey's 90th birthday celebration. A new show, Disney On Ice presents Mickey's Special Celebration, will also begin touring throughout the Asia Pacific region this July.

To top it off, legendary Disney animator Mark Henn will paint Mickey Mouse's official 90th portrait, which will debut on the cover of Disney twenty-three in the fall. D23 will also host Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse at Walt Disney World Resort this November for two days of panels, presentations and entertainment.

So join us in celebrating the big cheese as he reaches the big 9-0 this year, and keep an eye out as we reveal more surprises at Disney Parks leading up to the big day!
