This past weekend, Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, officially welcomed guests to the all-new KA WA'A luau. Set under the stars on the beautiful Halawai Lawn, KA WA'A luau offers guests an unforgettable dining and entertainment experience.
This is the first of two posts I'm dedicating to KA WA'A luau. Today, I wanted to share details about the pre-show experience and the show's incredible story. Later this week, I'll provide a taste of the luau's culinary experience.
To start the evening, guests are encouraged to enjoy special pre-show entertainment and family activities, including lei making, ku'i kalo (taro pounding) and kapala (printing).
Once the show begins, guests will meet Noa, a local storyteller who takes them on a journey through time with "ka wa'a" or "the canoe." In keeping with the Hawaiian cultural roots of Aulani Resort, KA WA'A luau immerses guests in the world around them, recounting tales of Oahu, as well as the legends of the demigod Maui. Lively music and traditional Hawaiian dance, including hula kahiko and modern hula 'auana, vividly bring the show's story to life.
Check out more in the video below!
Offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the KA WA'A luau pre-show activities begins at 5 p.m., followed by the luau buffet service and show (subject to change, based on season). For more information and reservations, visit DisneyAulani.com or call (808) 674-6850.
